Book Give- Away

Go over and visit A Joyful Chaos's Blog and enter for a chance  to win this book.

It feels like Summer time here in the South with the ac coming on quite a bit, the temps are so crazy for this time of year. My pansies have been planted for weeks but some died either by the heat or from the grubs and critters that the cold weather normally gets rid of. My husband and I enjoy our times together outside in the yard, in the gardens or just sitting for quite moments in our swing or glider. Times like these are few and far between but we enjoy them when we can. I was able to do some canning this Summer or was it this Fall Lol. With the weather being so warm for so long the fresh vegetables have been in abundance. I canned some green beans. Tomatoes and apple butter.
I had some help from Katie when time away from school permitted. I really want my girl's to know how to do these things it can really come in handy and it tastes so good to. I will miss her when she goes to college next year even though she will live at home just know she will be away makes me start to miss her presence at home already.. I still miss my oldest and I see her ever day. Well she studies most of this time but I know she is here. I love my family very much. Families change sort of like the seasons. The seasons change, the leaves fall and the grass dies, we are reminded  by this verse how short our lives are. So enjoy all the time you have with your loved ones with love and laughter and always keeping God first in your heart and life makes  life so much easier. Until my next post I hope everyone is well and happy. Thanks for coming by and God bless.

 1 Peter 1 :24-25
For all flesh is as grass and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth and theflower thereof falleth away. But the word of the Lord endureth forever and this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

Catching Up~

Summer is over and Fall is here. My flowers are blooming and you will find me in my garden as often as the hot weather permits.Since we last met. Katie celebrated her nineteenth Birthday. It is hard to believe my baby girl is eighteen, a Senior in high school and driving a car. Time goes by so fast. Wade and I celebrated twenty one years of marriage. Katie is taking piano lessons and she loves it.Wade is working lots and keeping his grass beautiful.I do enjoy being outside as much as I can. Bible school at Westgate Baptist Church was really great. Katie and I worked with the third grade class. We had a great class and we really enjoyed our time with these children. Its amazing how such young children have such a great thirst for the Lord and His word. I hope we made a difference in something we said or did during Bible school. We we also able to get to know more people from our our church. We took the girls up to Columbus, North Carolina for The Fourth of July celebration. We had lots of fun, food and fireworks. then we were able to attend services at Faith Baptist church and were invited for more food, fun and beautiful fireworks. It is always a pleasure to here the choir and see our friends from Faith. The Greer Baptist Camp Meeting is still under way. We had a short visit from Wade's Dad who lives in Maryland. It was nice to see him and Wade's sister. I have new friends on blogger. Jonathan and Emily Washer. Their blog is called  No Good Thing. They are Missionaries with National Goals. Please go over and visit and give them your  prayers and support. They are a very sweet Godly family who loves to serve the Lord.
Thank you all who have been faithful to remain with me on blogger. I forgot how much I missed it until I started doing my layout again. This is me playing catch up and when I started this post is was Summer time and now it is October and Fall is here even though it feels like Summer time. Hope all is well and Blessed. God is so good. Hold fast to His word and he will hold fast to you.

A Prayer in Spring~

A Prayer in Spring

Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfil.

What You Took From Me~

Lyrics by the Whisnants~
Lord I've come today to thank you
not for things I've ever mentioned here before
not for blessings you have given or the joys you've promised are in store
so as I bow before you give me the words to express my deepest thanks not for what you've given but lord for what you took away

You took my guilt and shame all my sinful blame became as yours, you opened wide your hand as a guilty man you wore my crown of thorns you took the death I earned and all that I deserved on Calvary lord thanks for what you've given but most of all thanks for what you took from me

father please forgive me for all the times I've failed to mention this before I've been so concerned with treasures I've went so far as to even ask for more but you've shown me lord what's precious it’s not the things you've given me today for their worth to me as nothing when compared
to what you took away.

You took my guilt and shame all my sinful blame
became as yours, you opened wide your hand as a guilty man you wore my crown of thorns you took
the death I earned and all that I deserved on Calvary lord thanks for what you've given but most of all thanks for what you took form me

you took my guilt and shame all my sinful blame became as your lord thanks for what you've given but most of all thanks for what you took from me.
I am so thankful for what the Lord took for me. He took the sin that I was born with and gave me a clean heart about thirty-four years ago at Old Savannah Baptist church in my home town of Sylva, North Carolina. It was during vacation Bible school. Every time I visit this special church, I can still get that feeling I felt the day the Lord saved me. My memory verse in Bible school that summer was John 3:16 so I do claim it as my life verse. John 3:16~17 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have ever lasting life 17`For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
I miss all my blogger friends but I do try to come by and visit you occasionally. I am weaning myself away slowly from face book. I hope everyone is well and happy. Spring is on the way. I love springtime. I cannot wait to get outdoors :)
Take care.
